DR LUC BESSETTE

Founder

Bachelor in biophysics from Université de Montréal, Dr. Luc Bessette is a family doctor. He is now working in a private medicine setting to have latitude to develop personalized health tools for both patients and practitioners.

His strong commitment to science drove him to file multiple patents in the field of information technology in the health sciences.

In 2018, he won his case in Federal Court against the Health Ministry of Québec and the Régie de l’Assurance-Maladie du Québec for infringement and inducement of infringement of two of his Canadian patents by the deployment of the Dossier Santé Québec. This court case in now settled and both parties are satisfied of the outcome.

Freed from this previous concern, he is now focused on developing new health tools and means to assist people to reclaim their health data and consequently empower themselves.

YVES LE BORGNE

Founder

Yves Le Borgne is a high level solutions architect who graduated from McGill University in electrical engineering. Since 2005 Mr. Le Borgne has been committed to the development of technological applications and processes in the health domain.

As a consultant, he brings altogether his know-how, his creativity, and a capacity to bring to life the enterprise’s vision.

MANUEL DANIEL

Principal Architect

Manuel has 15+ years of experience developing software. Worked in the telecommunications industry, ecommerce, health care, research, and financing. With most of his experience in backend development, he is comfortable working in many different languages and frameworks.

He enjoys leading small teams, diving deep into problems, working to improve performance, and elegant code.

In Portable EHR he found a project he feels passionate about and where he can do what he enjoys the most.

DR MATHIEU ROUSSEAU

Medical Research Director

Dr. Rousseau is a graduate of McGill University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with a minor in Computer Science (2008), followed by a Ph.D. in Computer Science specializing in Bioinformatics and Systems Biology (2013). His undergraduate medical training was completed at McGill University with an M.D.,C.M. granted in 2016 before moving to The University of Toronto for residency training in Family Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital (2018). He subsequently completed a Fellowship in the Family Medicine Clinician Scholar Program at McGill University (2019).

His specialized medical research training, including a Clinician Scholar Fellowship from McGill University underlies his current research interest in the development of mobile health applications and the integration of Artificial Intelligence technology in medicine, with the goal of improved patient care and outcome.

FRANÇOIS DESLOGES

Telecommunications software Designer

François has over 25 years of experience in high-tech entrepreneurship. With a degree in electrical engineering from Polytechnique de Montréal, he has worked to develop software applications at the heart of innovative processes for start-up companies. An out-of-the-box-thinker obsessed with quality, François has always preferred small teams and projects with the potential to break the status quo in a field.

In recent years, he has preferred to focus on ventures that resonate with his ethical values, whether in the area of privacy or the transition to non-carbon energy sources.

DSE Portable is his first contribution to a consumer software project.

RAHUL ASTHANA

Mobile applications Developer

Rahul has experience working with a variety of languages and platforms, and in different lines of businesses. He has around 6 years of experience in mobile development and overall, 18 + years in software development.

He has worked on both the backend and frontend of mobile apps and web applications and is comfortable working on both layers. He has experience in testing applications for performance under heavy load and high availability, along with resolving issues uncovered in such testing. He also has knowledge of application security standards and of providing fixes for security related vulnerabilities.

VICKEL LEUNG

Full Stack Developer

Vickel Leung has more than 5 years of experience working as a full stack developer. He focuses on his front-end, user experience and user interface design. He has worked in various fields, from fleet management to e-commerce, his new expertise now allows him to develop different areas of interest.

He likes to work with problems that require design and give solutions that are easy to implement and yet aesthetically pleasing. His front-end skill allows him to bring all his creativity into reality. He believes that privacy and anonymity are important in today’s world, which is why he appreciates his role at Portable EHR.

ISABELLE COMBE

Managing Director

Isabelle joined the Portable EHR team in December 2022. With 20 years of experience serving companies for their management and development on the Canadian and international market, she will be in charge of Portable EHR operations. She holds a dual master’s degree in business administration and economic development. Rigorous, professional, passionate about entrepreneurs, she is an asset in managing business development. Previously, she worked as general manager of Altios Canadian office, a consulting firm for international business development. Before, she was a corporate account manager at the National Bank of Canada.

VINAY KUMAR THAPA

Senior Mobile Application developer

Vinay has over 4 years of experience as a Software Engineer specializing in iOS and brings a comprehensive skill set to the table. While he has navigated backend development, Vinay’s true passion resides in the development of mobile applications. The ability to witness how his work positively impacts the lives of individuals fuels his enthusiasm.

During his tenure at his previous organization, Vinay not only honed his skills but also achieved remarkable milestones. He has developed and delivered mobile applications with the achievement of 1 Million plus downloads and 4-star ratings on the App Store.

Education-wise, Vinay is a proud alumnus of the University of Windsor, where he earned his master’s degree in computer engineering with a commendable GPA of 4/4 in all semesters. His intrinsic motivation centers on projects that improve the lives of the people and he appreciates Portable EHR for providing such a great opportunity as a Senior Mobile Application developer.
